One day I got tired of apples ICON for the image writer, so I made my own. To install your new ICON you need ResEdit.
1. Open your system folder in ResEdit (double-click on it)
2. Open your ImageWriter (double click)
3. Open ICN# (double click)
4. Open ImageWriter ICON
5. Open ICN#
6. select the new ICON that you see on the screen (will be outlined by a fine box)
7. Choose copy from the Edit menu (or command-C)
8. select the old icon (will be outlined)
9. Then select paste.
You are now the proud new user of the best image writer ICON EVER!
10. close all windows, and save changes when you are asked.
11. after you select quit, hold down the command-option keys, and rebuild the desk top! That's it!
I suggest you try this on a copy of your image writer first, and it it works, then replace the old one with it. You may also want to do this prcedure on it's own disk, just in case.. ResEdit is very powefull, and can do damage to a program if you do something wrong, so be careful! If you like your new imagewriter ICON, please send 25 cents, or whatever you think it is worth.
